Dear Baby Girl,

Dear Baby Girl,

Wow have the years flown by!  Just the other day you told me your graduating June 19, 2015. How can that be? How can you be graduating high school?  Didn't I just graduate high school a few years ago?

I need more time raising you. There's so much I recently learned that I need to teach you...things you may not want to hear but nevertheless things you need to know.

As you read this letter please keep an open mind. Know that I love you with all of my heart and I wouldn't be telling you these things if they were not true.

This brings me to the first and most important thing I want you to know.  I know you know how much I love you and how important you are to me. There is someone who actually loves you more than I could ever love you, that is God.

See love is a verb. Something that is shown like when I make your favorite dinner, bring you somewhere, or buy you a special gift. Well, God gave you a special gift and that's Jesus.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

1 John 4:9-10

There is nothing that you can do or have done that will change the way God loves you. Think of it like this, there are times you have done things that have not made me happy but no matter what I never stopped loving you. That is how God loves you baby girl!

  1. So sweet - hard when our girls grown up (mine are in their 20's now) but love this correlation about ... someone loves us more! Thank you for the reminder how much God loves us!

  2. Oooh. How nice. Time does fly. To give your daughter assurance that you love her and her Heavenly Father loves her even more is a great graduation gift.

    1. It's amazing when you look back how fast the years went by. Enjoy these last few years but remember even after they move out they will still be our babies.
