Dear Baby Girl Part 2

Dear Baby Girl,

Goodnight baby girl. Don't ever forget that your beautiful, wonderful, intelligent, awesome, a good person inside and out and that Mommy loves you and will always love you no matter what and always be there for you no matter what!

As you know this is what I used to whisper in your ear every night while you were sleeping.  I did this because I wanted you to know how wonderfully made you were.  I wanted to make sure you grew up to become a strong, hard working, confident, goal orientated and independent women.  That is exactly who you have become.

You are the type of women who doesn't want a crutch to hold you up.  You want to go out and conquer this crazy world all by yourself and make things happen for you, without any help!  Once you have your mind set on something, watch out world! Independent women tend to think they can do it all.  Lord help the person who has any doubt in them because they will show the doubters otherwise.  You know the saying, "If you want something done right you have to do it yourself."  I mean come on, there is no way someone else can do it as well as an independent women, right?

You are full of great qualities and they will take you far in life, but not far enough.  Eventually, you, like everyone else, will get worn out.  You will start to wonder why do I feel stuck?  Why can't I go any further?  Why is it that I have accomplished so much but there is still this empty feeling inside me?  How do I fill that void?

Look at the result: You plant much but harvest little. You have scarcely enough to eat or drink and not enough clothes to keep you warm. Your income disappears, as though you were putting it into pockets filled with holes!
Haggai 1:5-6

When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?”  Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”  “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?  Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”  Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
John 4:7-14

Baby girl, even with how awesome you are, you can't do it all, it's just not possible.  We were not created to do it all on our own, we need help.  Help from our family, friends, and most importantly from God.  The Samaritan women above thought the harder she worked, the more pleasures in life (water) she would create for herself.  She thought these pleasures would bring her joy, love, happiness and peace but if you continue to read her story you find out those things didn't last for a long time in her life.  Why is that?  It's because she was going at it the wrong way.  Honey, we both can think of some people we know that try to create their own happiness.  They think that one thing or that one person is going to make them happy but down the road they are back to feeling the same way.  More examples are drugs, alcohol, and sex.  When your in the middle of one of these activities you feel great but once your come down from your high or drunkenness all your problems come back, and you have that empty feeling again.  Why is that? Because they're going about it the wrong way.  They are missing God in their life and until they are willing to accept that fact they will never have that void filled.

Why is it that we need God to fill that void?  Because He created us, He wants a relationship with us and until we pursue that relationship we will always have that empty feeling deep in our soul.  But once we do pursue Him amazing things happen in our lives!

Love you baby girl!

Dear Baby Girl,

Dear Baby Girl,

Wow have the years flown by!  Just the other day you told me your graduating June 19, 2015. How can that be? How can you be graduating high school?  Didn't I just graduate high school a few years ago?

I need more time raising you. There's so much I recently learned that I need to teach you...things you may not want to hear but nevertheless things you need to know.

As you read this letter please keep an open mind. Know that I love you with all of my heart and I wouldn't be telling you these things if they were not true.

This brings me to the first and most important thing I want you to know.  I know you know how much I love you and how important you are to me. There is someone who actually loves you more than I could ever love you, that is God.

See love is a verb. Something that is shown like when I make your favorite dinner, bring you somewhere, or buy you a special gift. Well, God gave you a special gift and that's Jesus.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

1 John 4:9-10

There is nothing that you can do or have done that will change the way God loves you. Think of it like this, there are times you have done things that have not made me happy but no matter what I never stopped loving you. That is how God loves you baby girl!

Who me, old fashion?

In the past year I made a lot of changes with the way I view things. I'm working on making my life more Christian centered.

I was pregnant my senior year of high school which surprised many because I was the quiet one in school. I had my daughter 3 months after I graduated. A year later I became a single mother.

I was a very strong independent women and raised my daughter to be that way.  My husband and I were married a few months before my daughter turned 8 years old.  I didn't NEED a husband, I CHOOSE to have a husband and that's what I used to tell my him when we fought. Actually, I use to say, "The door is right there.  I don't need you.  I was single mom once before I can do it again!" Prideful? Yes!  See I was a stay at home mom when my daughter's father and I broke up, so everything I had, I earned myself as a single mom. I was determined not to be in hurt again.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.
Ephesians 2: 8-9

Thank God for His gift!

I always believed in Jesus but never lived a Christian centered life nor knew what that really meant till recently.  My husband and I found a wonderful church and have made a lot of changes in our lives in the last year. I don't mind submitting(Oh boy there's that nasty word lol)to my husband, letting him lead the family, and giving up most control(I'm still working on this).  I work but I no longer mind staying home and cleaning the house.

I used to consider myself a Democrat. I felt like they cared more about the needy. You know just like Jesus.  I felt like the Republicans only cared about themselves.  I no longer consider myself a Democrat because I feel like they don't follow the bible.  Yes, they care for the needy which I love(yes, some "needy" don't deserve the help because in actuality they're just lazy but I'm not talking about them)but there are so many other things they believe in that I'm totally against.

So would I call myself a conservative because they supposedly believe in the bible?  That just didn't sit well in what my pastor calls my knower. Then I started thinking these terms really only describe political parties.  I'm really not trying to describe my political stance but trying to describe my moral stance.  Could my new ways of thinking be old fashion? It's pretty funny to think of me as old fashion.  I think a great way to describe who I'm becoming is traditional, maybe just maybe a little old  fashion?

So it is safe to say that this blog will be changing, maybe even the name.
Stay tuned......

Steel Cut Oats

Another passion I have is eating right.  I'm not perfect at it, I LOVE my junk food, and let's be honest, eating right is expensive.  There are some things I always do and find isn't expensive.  I never use ground beef, only ground turkey or chicken, I never buy can vegetables, only fresh or frozen.  Also, I never buy white bread, only 100% whole wheat or multi-grain bread, I fry with Olive Oil, and I TRY to use only 100% wheat or multi-grain pasta.

I always cook dinner but breakfast and lunch is another story.  I like to have something quick to grab while I'm on the go, so I have been on the look out for healthy food.

I just learned about Steel Cut Oats.  Steel Oats are healthier than instant oatmeal(what I feed my son because it was nice and easy)because it is the least processed oat, while instant oatmeal is the most processed oat.

Steel Oats are a little more expensive(I just bought it at Walmart for a little under $4) than instant oatmeal but it is filling so a little goes a long way.  Also, they take longer to cook, about 30-45 minutes, but you can cook them and put them in the fridge for a quick and healthy breakfast or snack.

Last night I cooked 4 servings.  Then I melted brown sugar, honey, and cinnamon and poured it over the oats(my version of Maple and Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal, my sons favorite).  It was too sweet so I made another 4 cups of oats and it was perfect!  I then pureed frozen strawberries and mixed it in my oats.  All I can say is yummmy!!!!!

This morning it was so nice to throw some oats in a bowl, heat it up for a couple of minutes in the microwave, bring it to work and have a nice healthy and filling breakfast!  My son had a belly ache this morning so he didn't have breakfast, I can't wait to see what he thinks of his new breakfast treat!  Hopefully, I can get my daughter(she is 14 and is and always has been a picky eater)to like it.

Have you tried Steel Cut Oats, what do you think of them?  Do you have any other healthy quick recipes?  Please share in the comment  section.  Thank you!

Achieving My Goal

I know my passion is Real Estate Investment.  I know the Lord has put this passion in me and I also know

The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me.
Psalm 138:8

My problem is financially, I am not in a place where I can afford real estate.  But I'm not going to let this stop me!

So what are my first step to turn this goal into an achievement?  Well, I'm not going to wait till my finances are in order.  I'm going to find mentors who are willing to teach me everything they now.  I already receive daily emails from a real estate agent sharing her knowledge

http://www.greatinvestmentproperty.com/confirm/

Today I emailed a real estate consultant about mentoring me.  I will continue to learn everything possible, so that when I am ready to make my first purchase, I will have all the knowledge to make the right decisions.

How Do I Plan On Creating An Empire?

So how do I plan on creating an empire?

One of my passions is Real Estate Investments.

Real estate investing involves the purchase, ownership, management, rental and/or sale of real estate for profit.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_estate_investing

I want to buy and flip houses

  • Flipping is a term used primarily in the United States to describe purchasing a revenue-generating asset and quickly reselling (or "flipping") it for profit. Though flipping can apply to any asset, the term is most often applied to real estate and initial public offerings.

I want to buy houses that need some work, fix them, then sell them for a profit.

I also want to own real estate.
Yes, I want to own residential properties, but I also want to own commercial real estate.

Definition of 'Commercial Real Estate'

Property that is used solely for business purposes. Examples of commercial real estate include malls, office parks, restaurants, gas stations, convenience stores and office towers. Commercial real estate is one of the three primary types of real estate. The other types are residential real estate, which is used for living purposes; and industrial real estate, which is used for manufacturing and production. The businesses that occupy commercial real estate usually lease the space. An investor usually owns the building and collects rent from each business that operates there.
